Fans are disappointed about a specific Yankees player making the MLB All-Star team.

Some fans expressed discontent over New York Yankees pitcher Clay Holmes being selected for this year’s MLB All-Star team. Holmes was among three Yankees announced on Sunday, alongside star outfielders Juan Soto and Aaron Judge.

While the inclusion of Soto and Judge drew little debate, Holmes did not garner the same enthusiasm from fans. Criticism centered on Holmes being seen as less deserving compared to renowned sluggers like Soto and Judge. Many fans argued on various platforms that relievers such as Craig Kimbrel of the Baltimore Orioles or Kenley Jansen of the Boston Red Sox were more deserving of the spot. Cleveland Guardians supporters also contended that Hunter Gaddis had a stronger case than Holmes.

Fans typically favor their own players, but Holmes’ selection prompted more scrutiny from different fan bases than usual. Many fans suggested that Holmes should be replaced by other pitchers who they believed were more deserving. Some fans even compiled extensive lists of relievers they felt had stronger cases than Holmes.
