Larson Keeps Cool To Land Spot in Top 12 Qualifying
Kyle Larson ended up sixth fastest Saturday in the first day of PPG Presents Armed Forces Qualifying ¹. He would end up crashing and finishing 39th in the Grant Park 165 NASCAR Cup Series race at the Chicago Street Course Sunday evening ². After starting on the pole, the hopes of winning the Grant Park 165 would fade. Larson would finish Top 5 in stage 1 but fade back from there. He’d be racing hard on lap 34 and trying to move forward but would miscalculate the speed going into a turn and crash hard into the tire barriers. The No. 5 Chevrolet would be done for the day with the disappointing DNF ².
