The schedule for the 2024–2025 season has been revealed, with Macon Mayhem beginning the season at home.
Macon’s home and away opponents for its tenth season in the SPHL have been revealed with less than 100 days to go until the season kicks off.
MACON, Georgia The Macon Mayhem’s opponents for the 10th season of the SPHL have been announced, with less than 100 days till the puck hits the ice. The formal announcement of Macon’s 2024–2025 season came on Wednesday. For the third consecutive year, the Mayhem will open the season at home. On Saturday, October 19, at 6 p.m., they will take on the Birmingham Bulls at the Macon Coliseum. The Bulls led the league in victories and points at the conclusion of the 2023–2024 regular season.
The next weekend, on October 25 and 26, The Mayhem will play the Fayetteville Marksmen. After that, Macon plans to travel for over a month. The Mayhem will play away games from November 1 through November 22 before coming home to play the Marksmen one again on November 23. From December 13 to December 15, they will play at home against the Peoria Rivermen, the defending SPHL league winners. Although just 13 of the Mayhem’s first 32 games were played at home, the team will play an equal number of home and away games by the end of the season. Macon has two distinct home game stretches left in their schedule.
The Mayhem are probably hoping for an opportunity to recover from their underwhelming campaign from the previous year. Along with the Knoxville Ice Bears, they were one of the two teams that did not make it to the playoffs. The team also announced the protected players who would be back for the 2024–2025 campaign ahead of schedule. This team will represent Macon till they are eliminated later on. A significant news for the 2017 season is still pending for The Mayhem. After its first scheduled press conference for July 11, Macon is still awaiting the announcement of its new head coach.
