Wigan Warriors explains why their punishment from the St Helens game was lifted before Hull FC’s

Adam Keighran of Wigan Warriors was handed a one-match Penalty Notice for a Grade B ‘Dangerous Throw/Lift’ after their derby win over St Helens.

This came just over a month after being handed a three-game ban and getting a red card for a shoulder charge on Arron Lindop. He would have been banned for the Warriors’ clash with Hull FC this weekend as a result. Keighran has been almost ever-present for the Warriors this year, and has often been the side’s designated goal-kicker. He has six tries to his name this year and will be a key member of the Warriors’ hopes of defending their League Leaders’ Shield and Grand Final victory. Therefore, the Warriors were keen to appeal his ban.
