MIGUEL OLIVEIRA SECURES HISTORIC WIN AT BRITISH MotoGP
Miguel Oliveira made history yesterday by becoming the first Portuguese rider to win the British MotoGP at Silverstone.
Oliveira, riding for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, dominated the race from start to finish, crossing the line 2.5 seconds ahead of second-place finisher, Fabio Quartararo.
“This is an incredible feeling,” Oliveira said in the post-race press conference. “To be the first Portuguese rider to win here at Silverstone is a dream come true.
Oliveira’s win marks a milestone in his career, and he now moves up to fourth place in the MotoGP championship standings.
“Miguel rode an amazing race,” said team manager, Mike Leitner. “We’re thrilled to see him on the top step of the podium.”
The win is also a significant boost for KTM, who are celebrating their first MotoGP victory of the season.
