CAITLIN CLARK LEADS HAWKEYES TO UPSET WIN OVER RANKED OPPONENT
Iowa City, IA – University of Iowa women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark led the Hawkeyes to a thrilling 75-72 upset win over #12-ranked Maryland on Monday night. Clark, a sophomore guard, scored a game-high 32 points, including 7 three-pointers, to propel Iowa to the victory.
“Caitlin was unstoppable tonight,” said Iowa head coach, Lisa Bluder. “She’s a special player who can take over a game at any moment.
Clark’s impressive performance also included 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Her 32 points marked the 10th time this season she has scored 30 or more points in a game.
The win marks a significant upset for the Hawkeyes, who improved their record to 18-5 overall and 9-3 in the Big Ten. Clark and the Hawkeyes will look to build on this momentum as they face #10-ranked Ohio State on Thursday.
