EMMA RADUCANU WINS THRILLING MATCH AT WIMBLEDON, ADVANCES TO QUARTERFINALS
London, UK – British tennis sensation Emma Raducanu has won a thrilling fourth-round match at Wimbledon, defeating #10-ranked Simona Halep in a nail-biting tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.
Raducanu, 20, showed incredible poise and determination, saving multiple set points in the first set before dominating the tiebreaker. She then broke Halep’s serve twice in the second set to seal the win.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be in the quarterfinals,” said Raducanu. “It’s an incredible feeling to be playing on Centre Court in front of my home crowd.”
Raducanu’s victory marks her deepest run at Wimbledon yet and sets up a mouth-watering quarterfinal match against #3-ranked Elena Svitolina.
