JOHN FORCE BECOMES OLDEST DRIVER TO WIN NHRA FUNNY CAR TITLE AT 74 YEARS OLD

John Force made history on Sunday, July 23, 2023, by becoming the oldest driver to win an NHRA Funny Car title at the age of 74. Force, a 16-time NHRA champion, won the Dodge Power Brokers NHRA Mile-High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado.

Force’s victory marked his first win of the 2023 season and the 155th of his illustrious career. He defeated Ron Capps in the final round with a pass of 4.054 seconds at 314.71 mph.

I’m just proud to be here and still competing at this level,” Force said in a post-race interview. “My team has worked so hard to get me to this point, and I’m just grateful to be able to still do what I love.

Force’s win comes as he continues to defy age and push the boundaries of what’s possible in the sport. He remains one of the most successful and beloved drivers in NHRA history, and his latest victory only adds to his legacy.
