PHOENIX SUNS SIGN TYUS JONES TO ONE-YEAR DEAL

The Phoenix Suns have bolstered their point guard depth by signing free agent Tyus Jones to a one-year, $3.3 million contract.

Jones, 27, averaged 12.0 points and 7.3 assists per game for the Washington Wizards last season, showcasing his ability to score and facilitate for his teammates. The 6-foot-1 point guard has also played for the Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves in his six-year NBA career.

Tyus is a talented point guard who will bring a new dynamic to our team,” said Suns General Manager James Jones. “His ability to score, pass, and defend will be a valuable asset to our roster.

The signing of Jones adds depth to the Suns’ backcourt, which already features Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Cameron Payne. Jones’ contract is non-guaranteed, giving the Suns flexibility to adjust their roster as needed.

Jones expressed his excitement to join the Suns, saying, “I’m thrilled to be a part of this talented team and contribute to our success. I’m looking forward to getting started and competing at the highest level.
