MOTOGP CALENDAR ANNOUNCED FOR 2024, INDIA MAKES HISTORIC DEBUT

The FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) has officially released the MotoGP calendar for 2024, featuring 20 rounds and a historic debut in India.

The season will kick off on March 10 in Qatar and conclude on November 24 in Valencia, Spain. The highly anticipated Indian Grand Prix will take place on September 22 at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.

We are thrilled to bring MotoGP to India for the first time,” said Dorna Sports CEO, Carmelo Ezpeleta. “The Indian market has huge potential, and we expect a massive turnout for the event.

The 2024 calendar also sees the return of the Portuguese Grand Prix, which was absent from the 2023 schedule. The British Grand Prix has been moved to August 11, avoiding a clash with the Formula 1 British Grand Prix.

Riders and teams have welcomed the new calendar, citing a better balance of European and flyaway races.

“The 2024 calendar looks exciting, with a good mix of tracks,” said reigning champion, Francesco Bagnaia. “I’m looking forward to racing in India for the first time.

The MotoGP paddock will now begin preparations for the 2024 season, with pre-season testing scheduled for February in Malaysia and Qatar.
