SHAUN WANE RETURNS AS WIGAN WARRIORS HEAD COACH

Wigan Warriors have announced the return of Shaun Wane as head coach, replacing Matty Peet.

Wane, who led the Warriors to three Super League titles and two Challenge Cups during his first stint from 2012 to 2018, has signed a two-year deal.

I’m thrilled to be back at Wigan,” said Wane. “It’s a club that’s close to my heart, and I’m excited to get started.

Wane’s return comes after a disappointing season for the Warriors, who failed to make the play-offs under Peet.

We’re delighted to have Shaun back,” said Wigan Warriors CEO, Kris Radlinski. “He’s a Wigan legend and a proven winner. We’re confident he can bring success back to the club.

Wane will take charge of the team immediately, with his first game in charge coming against Huddersfield Giants next week.

“I’m looking forward to getting back on the training pitch and working with the players,” said Wane. “We’ve got a lot of work to do, but I’m confident we can turn things around.
