Derby will be hoping to find their first away victory of the season in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter.
Derby County manager Paul Warne is determined to make the most of his squad as the Rams aim to
secure their first away win of the season against Coventry City on Wednesday. Despite a challenging
run on the road, with just two points from seven away games, Warne remains unfazed by injuries
and is focused on finding the right mix of players to turn their fortunes around.
With key players like Ryan Nambe and David Ozoh still sidelined, Warne acknowledges the
difficulties, but insists the team must adapt. “I can’t moan about injuries because I’ve got 25
players,” Warne told BBC Radio Derby. “There are always going to be injuries, suspensions, lack of
form and you’ve just got to shuffle the pack and try to get your best players out there.”
Nambe’s absence has left Derby without a natural right-back, while Ozoh’s injury has deprived them
of a standout midfielder. Warne is optimistic about their return but understands the challenges of
squad management. “When you get those two back, there’ll be two other issues,” he added.
Looking ahead to the tough challenge against Coventry, who have been in fine form with back-to-
back victories and six goals in their last two games, Warne knows his side faces a tough task.
“They’ve got one of the most experienced managers outside the Premier League,” said Warne of
Coventry’s Mark Robins. “They are a proper team with a really good age.”
