Key Responsibilities of the Retail and Ticketing Roles.
As a member of the Retail and Ticketing
teams at either Wigan Warriors or
Wigan Athletic, you will play an essential
role in ensuring smooth day-to-day
operations. Your duties will include:
1. Customer Service Excellence.
Providing exceptional service to
supporters, both in-store and via online
platforms. You will assist fans with
purchases, answer queries, and provide
information on upcoming events,
matchdays, and new product releases.
2. Ticketing Support. – Assisting with
the sale and distribution of tickets for
both rugby and football matches. This
includes processing ticket orders,
managing ticketing systems, and
ensuring all ticketing operations run
seamlessly before, during, and after
events.
3. Retail Operations. – Managing the
retail store(s) and maintaining product
displays, stock levels, and ensuring all
merchandise is up to date. You will also
assist with stocktaking and replenishing
shelves.
4. Event-Day Duties. – During
matchdays, you’ll be involved in
managing ticketing operations, providing
assistance at the stadium’s retail outlets,
and ensuring that supporters have
everything they need for an enjoyable
matchday experience.
5. Cash Handling and Reporting. –
Ensuring accurate processing of cash,
card payments, and returns. You will also
be responsible for helping with the
financial reporting and reconciliation
processes.
What We Are Looking For.
To be successful in these roles, we are
seeking individuals who are enthusiastic,
hardworking, and reliable. Ideal
candidates should have:
– Excellent Communication Skills. –
You must be able to engage with
supporters and customers in a friendly
and professional manner, whether over
the phone, via email, or in person.
– A Passion for Sports. – A genuine
interest in rugby or football is preferred,
as you’ll be representing two highly
respected sports clubs. Understanding
the importance of fan engagement and
the role it plays in the sporting
experience is essential.
– Experience in Retail or Ticketing. –
Previous experience in a customer-facing
role within retail or ticketing will be an
advantage. Familiarity with ticketing
systems or retail management software
would be a plus.
– Attention to Detail. – You will need
to be organized and detail-oriented,
ensuring that all transactions are
processed accurately and that fans
receive the right tickets or products in a
timely manner.
– Team Player. – You will work closely
with other members of the Retail and
Ticketing teams, so the ability to
collaborate and support your colleagues
