COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football will host its spring game on April 12. Details about the event, which is being labeled as a spring showcase, will be released in the future.
Spring practice will begin on March 17 for coach Ryan Day’s Buckeyes and will last four weeks, ending with the showcase.
This spring will be paramount for Ohio State as it moves past a memorable season. After winning a national title, the Buckeyes are losing a majority of their starters on both sides of the ball.
The development of the quarterback room will be closely monitored across the four weeks of practice.
Julian Sayin is the presumed favorite to start after serving as the third-string option behind since-departed quarterbacks Will Howard and Devin Brown.
Sayin joined the Buckeyes last year ahead of his true freshman season. He was initially an early enrollee at Alabama who transferred to Ohio State following Nick Saban’s retirement.
Lincoln Kienholz is expected to be the top contender for the starting spot behind Sayin. He has spent two seasons with the program, appearing in five games.
