Super League disciplinary action means key players from Wigan and St Helens will be absent for a significant derby match.

Round 16 of the Super League has concluded, so teams are now awaiting the decisions of the Match Review Panel regarding disciplinary matters once more.

Previously, five players received bans: Sione Mata’utia from St Helens, Michael McIlorum and Elliot Wallis from Catalans, and Emanuel Waine from London Broncos. They each faced a one-game suspension, although many utilized the Super League reserves loophole to avoid missing first-team matches.

This week, despite the absence of Thursday fixtures due to the Euros, the round commenced on Friday night. The early surprise came as Castleford Tigers narrowly defeated St Helens at the Totally Wicked Stadium, thanks to late penalty kicks by Rowan Milnes.
