**Left Defense:**

– Andrew Peeke
The defensive pairings seem fairly straightforward at this stage. The departures of Matt Grzelcyk to the Pittsburgh Penguins and Derek Forbort to the Vancouver Canucks were influenced by the promising development of Mason Lohrei and his performance in the playoffs, demonstrating he’s ready for a full-time NHL role. Andrew Peeke, acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets at the trade deadline, will compete with Parker Wortherspoon for the third spot on the right side, but Peeke has the early advantage.
